About

Notes on Company Secretaryship and Indian corporate law, written while I finish a career the long way.

Who I am

I’m Thanmayi Kadiam, a CS Finalist. I’ve cleared the CS Executive stage of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) programme and I’m currently working through the Professional programme. Once I qualify, I intend to start practice; this site is where I’m laying the foundation for that, publicly and in writing.

What I write about

My work here sits at the intersection of the CS curriculum and the way Indian companies are actually run. Three recurring threads:

  • Explainers. Long-form pieces on Companies Act 2013, Secretarial Standards (SS-1, SS-2), SEBI LODR, FEMA and related rules — written to hold up months after an exam.
  • Case notes. Short reads on board resolutions, NCLT orders, and corporate governance lapses that show the Act in motion.
  • Practice tips. Drafting notes, filing walkthroughs, and the small procedural details that rarely make it into textbooks.

Why this site

Writing publicly forces clarity. It also builds a body of work that stands before I sign my first attestation — so clients, peers, and future collaborators can see how I think, not just what I’ve qualified in. If anything here is useful, or wrong, I’d like to hear.
